Arthur Miller, born on October 17, 1915, in Harlem, New York, was a renowned Jewish-American playwright and essayist. After the financial crisis in 1929, his family relocated to Gravesend, Brooklyn. Arthur helped to support his family and eventually graduated from the University of Michigan. He was a prolific writer, creating numerous novels, plays, and essays. Among his impressive repertoire, his greatest masterpiece was Death of a Salesman. This iconic play received high praise and recognition upon its opening in New York City in 1949, earning him a Tony Award for Best Play and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. He married three times and had four children. Miller passed away in 2005.
